Marcia Roselyn Johnson, 99, of Nashville, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Flower Haus Adult Foster Care Home in Nashville, Michigan.
Marcia was born on September 8,1922 to Ralph and Meda (Cosgrove) Keith in Lansing, Michigan. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1940.
She married Lester “Let” Johnson on March 9,1946 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan and sadly he passed away on October 5, 2006.
Marcia worked as an LPN in the ER at Leila Hospital and then at Percy Jones Hospital in Battle Creek. She was employed at St. Mary’s and St. Joseph Hospitals while residing in Tucson, Arizona. She worked a number of years at Transamerica Insurance Co. in Battle Creek. Marcia retired from the Music Department at Olivet College in 1976 and then went to work at Hudson’s Department Store in Battle Creek retiring in 1999.
She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Battle Creek and St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Tucson, Arizona. Marcia was very active with many of the church functions. She was a volunteer and board member of the American Red Cross for many years. She enjoyed knitting and oil painting.
Marcia is survived by her daughter; Nancy (Mark) Bassett of Bellevue, her 6 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Let, her daughter Cinda and one great-great grandchild.
A private memorial service for Marcia will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan at a later date.
