Maleah "Mia" Margaret Goss

Maleah "Mia" Margaret Goss, 45, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.

She was born on August 17, 1978 to Kevin and Deborah "Debi" (Meyers) Goss in Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated from Battle Creek Lakeview High School and then went onto Western Michigan University, graduating with her bachelor’s degree in special education.

Mia was a longtime Special Education teacher for a total of 22 years, beginning at Bellevue School District where she was affectionately known as the "VIB", and then more recently at Doris Klaussen. Mia loved her job of teaching as it brought her great joy as reflected in her receiving the Teacher of the Year Award. Her favorite music artist was Snoop Dogg. She was an excellent artist, especially painting and had a great taste for decorating. It was nothing for Mia to put her boys in the car and go on a road trip throughout southwest Michigan and she also enjoyed going to local breweries and wineries.  Her chicken noodle soup and stuffed mushrooms were a family favorite. Mia's greatest love was for her family and especially her son's.

Maleah "Mia" is survived by her parents, Kevin (Debi) Goss of Battle Creek, Michigan; her two sons, Brayden Goss and Xander Goss both of Marshall, Michigan; her siblings, Cortney (Ryan) Rowe of Battle Creek, Michigan, Kelsey (Justin Baker) Goss of Bellaire, Michigan and Christopher (Toon) Goss of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her former husband, Jason (Courtney) Goss of Marshall, Michigan; her paternal grandparents, Dale (Joan) Goss of Battle Creek, Michigan. Mia is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

The Celelebration of Life for Mia will take place on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 3:00 until 6:00 pm at Dark Horse Brewery (511 S. Kalamazoo Ave. Marshall, Michigan 49068).
