Lynda Lou Walbeck, 78, of Battle Creek, passed away on August 9, 2022.
She was born in Comstock, MI, on December 5, 1943, to Cecil Wayne DeLaney Sr. and Dorothy (Koostra) DeLaney. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. She was united in marriage with John F. Walbeck on February 20, 1964. She enjoyed cooking, camping, and fishing. She loved to play cards & bingo and liked to make trips to the casino. She enjoyed helping others. During the pandemic she would take the time to make masks for friends and family. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lynda is survived by her husband, John F. Walbeck; children, John C. (Jacqueline) Walbeck and Nicole (Bernard) Robbins; six grandchildren, Cody (Jenna) Walbeck, Cameron Dunithan, Carter Robbins, Carson Robbins; two great-grandchildren, Luke Walbeck and Grace Walbeck; one sister, Patricia Burch; one aunt, Mildred Darby; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Wayne DeLaney Jr., and her parents, Cecil Wayne DeLaney Sr. and Dorothy (Koostra) DeLaney.
Cremation has taken place and Lynda’s cremated remains will be interred in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. A memorial celebration of life will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Moose Lodge, 1238 S. Kalamazoo Ave, Marshall, MI 49068. Memorial contributions may be given to Fountain Clinic or Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
