Loretta M. (Courtright) Grable

Loretta M. Grable, 90, of Marshall, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 19, 1932 to Vern and Clara (Eash) Courtright in Battle Creek, Michigan.

In June of 1950 she married Ronald Grable in Marshall. Loretta worked at Fabricators in Marshall for a few years and then went to work at the Battle Creek Sanitarium as a dietician for many years.

Loretta and Ron along with their children traveled and participated in many barrel horse racing events around the country. Loretta loved to garden, especially vegetables. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and the many cats that resided at the farm. Loretta was a longtime 4-H volunteer, a member of the Wattles Park Trailblazers Horse Club and the Youth Rodeo Club.

Loretta is survived by her loving spouse of 72 years Ronald, her children, Marilyn Wolter of Marshall, Rick Grable of Marshall and Karen Cole of Marshall, her grandchildren, Billy Wolter of Marshall, Nicklos (MaKenzie Miller) Swan of Marshall and Melissa (Scott) Boysen of Marshall, her great grandchildren, Melanie Boysen and Ryan Boysen; her sister, Eva "Ruth" Tuttle of Battle Creek. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings; Merle Rice, Brother, Albert Courtright, Shrife Courtright and Francis Courtright.

Visitation for Loretta will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, 11:00 am at the Kempf Family Funeral Marshall with Pastor Bill Cole, officiating.

Burial will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Battle Creek, Michigan.
