Lois Louise (Perry) Flanders

Lois L. Flanders, 87, of East Leroy, passed away Thursday August 26, 2021, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Lois was born August 11, 1934, in Battle Creek to Ralph D. and Rosadelle (Soules) Perry. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1953. On March 14, 1953, she married John C. Flanders in Battle Creek at the First Congressional Church.  He preceded her in death on December 17, 2014.

Lois retired in 1992 after working many years in the Harper Creek School System.  She was a retired member of the Battle Creek Sweet Adeline’s. Lois was an avid camper and enjoyed camping with her husband and the camping club.  When Lois was younger, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends at the cottage on Palmer Lake in Colon.

She is survived by four children, David (Judy) Flanders, James Flanders, Charles Flanders, Sharon (Bill) Bailey; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister Barbara Rick.

Family will greet friends from 12-1pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 2838 Capital Ave SW Battle Creek MI 49015 with funeral services taking place at 1pm.  Interment will follow at Battle Creek Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions are requested to the Charily of One’s Choice.
