Laura L. Hookway, 66, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Borgess Ascension Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

She was born on April 14, 1957 to Floyd and Emily (Altman) Kader in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Laura worked as a Laborer for National Sign and Signal Co. in Battle Creek, Michigan.

On May 21, 2004 Laura married Gerald "Gary" Hookway in Battle Creek, Michigan, sadly he passed away on February 15, 2023.

Laura was a member of Battle Creek Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed being a homemaker and watching her favorite television show-Murder She Wrote. Above all else she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Laura is survived by her children, Paul (Terri Ebbs) Slone of Battle Creek, Michigan, Mitchell Slone of Charlotte, Michigan and Gregory (Jennifer) Slone of Battle Creek, Michigan; her stepsons, Casey Hookway of Parma, Michigan and Drew Hookway of Warsaw, Indiana and her brother, Martin (Sue) Kader of Augusta, Maine. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Jim Hoag and Tom Clemens.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, 11:00 am at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Battle Creek Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
