Klaas Jouke Wielinga

Klaas Jouke Wielinga went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the age of 91. Klaas was born May 23, 1930, in Wyckel, Friesland, Netherlands. The Wielinga family immigrated to Canada in 1948. Klaas often chose the road less traveled and in Vermillion Bay found the love of his life, Betty, at the end of a gravel road. They were married for 60 years and had three daughters, Geneva (Richard) Veldhuisen, Bonnie (Rick) Whitten, and Anita (Scott) Struck. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. For over 30 years they worked together at Wielinga Tax Office in Grand Rapids, Michigan which had been home since 1962. Klaas had a great love for travel and found so much beauty in the nature that surrounded him. He also enjoyed spending time riding his bike, playing the organ, and tackling any puzzle that came his way.
