Kenneth Jay Patton, 82, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 3, 1939 to Orville and Cleyola (Granger) Patton in Eckford Twp., Michigan. Kenneth graduated from Marshall High School and then went on to graduate with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Central Michigan University. On February 2, 2003 he married Barbara Ranger.
Kenneth was a social studies teacher at Alma Public Schools for over 36 years, retiring in 2003.
Kenneth was a longtime member of the Alma Elks Lodge and an active member of the MEA. He loved to fish at his cottage, play cards with family and friends and watching sports. Kenneth was a lover of all genres of music and had an extensive collection of CD's.
Kenneth is survived by his wife; Barbara, his children; Katherine (Ralph) Patton-Eriksson of Madison Heights, Michigan; Kurt Patton of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and Klay (Shelly) Patton of Alma, Michigan; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his siblings; Mick (Joann) Patton of Lambertville, Michigan, Mark (Diane) Patton of Marshall, Michigan and Kim Gibson of Goshen, Indiana; his step-children; Karmen (Mike) Cance of Wyoming, Michigan and Stuart Hester of Marshall, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Valerie Leski who died June 1998, his sister; Roberta "Bobby" Lee and step-son, Keith Hester.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall, Michigan 49068 with the memorial service to follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Jacob Washburn officiating.
