Judith Lynn (Ailor) Weatherly

Judith Lynn Weatherly, 79, of Marshall, passed away on February 10, 2023.

Judith was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 9, 1943, to Jack and Myrtle (Lynch) Ailor. She graduated from Central High School in Knoxville. She attended Western Michigan University, where she received her Bachelors and Masters degrees. Judith was united in marriage with Ben Weatherly in 1959. She worked as a teacher for Tekonsha Public Schools, where she retired from after twenty-five years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marshall, where she was actively involved. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and volunteered with the youth group. She was a member of the Michigan Education Association. She was an active member of the Marshall Garden Club and volunteered with the Marshall Home Tour. Among her hobbies, she especially enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, and attending grandchildren’s sporting events.

Judith is survived by her loving spouse of 63 years, Ben Weatherly; children, Greg Weatherly and Angie (Tim) Bell; six grandchildren, Lydia Weatherly, Garrett Weatherly, Carter Weatherly, Alyssa (Tanner) Gray, Riley Bell, Madelyn Bell; one sister, Kathy Ailor.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Scott Weatherly; her parents, Jack Ailor and Myrtle Ailor; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Weatherly.

Friends may visit with the family from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023, with Pastor Brandon Crawford officiating. Following the service, a graveside committal will take place at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
