Joyce Ann Day

Joyce Ann Day, 86, of Marshall, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce was born in Marshall on October 31, 1936, to the late Avis (Grantham) Lapham. She worked at Schuler’s Restaurant for 15 years. She then went on to work at Eaton Corporation, where she worked in the HR department. She retired from Eaton after thirty years of service. She was an avid animal lover, and her passion was horses. When she was younger, she participated in barrel racing events. When her children were young, she was involved with 4H and FFA (Future Farmers of America).

She was married to Harry Joseph Day Jr. on August 14, 1953, in LaGrange, IN. Harry preceded her in death on September 17, 2019. She is survived by their children, Larry Day of Battle Creek, Robert (Peggy) Day of Hastings, and Karen (Jerry) Crampton of Marshall; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Hirst, Joe (Corrin) Day, Calvin  Day; four great-grandchildren, Emmalie Hirst, Kaitlyn Hirst, Kenna Day,  Baby Boy Day who is expected soon; and her sister, Barbara Hayes.

She was preceded in death by her brother and three sisters, Robert Lapham, Betty Rodgers, Donna Morrill, and Shirley Williams; and her father, Dale Lapham
