Jose M. Gonzalez

Jose M. Gonzalez, 71, of Albion, died on Saturday August 5, 2006 at Oaklawn Hospital surrounded by his family.Mr. Gonzalez was born on December 6, 1934, in Monterrey, Mexico to Jose and Agetha (Arevalo) Gonzalez. He completed his education in Mexico. On April 7, 1961, he married Maria L. Garza in Monterrey, Mexico. She survives.Mr. Gonzalez was employed at Harvard Industries in Albion. Mr. Gonzalez was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Albion. Mr. Gonzalez enjoyed traveling, and was an avid sports fan.He is survived by his wife in Albion, three daughters; Lucy (Paul) Baratta of Pennsylvania, Betty (Shayne) Smith of Texas, and Marie Gonzalez of Massachusetts, a son Adrian Gonzalez of Dearborn. He is also survived by five grand children, a sister Loli Gonzalez of Mexico, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.At the request of Mr. Gonzalez, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Knights of Columbus in Albion. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
