John Anthony Case, age 67, of Homer, passed away on March 4, 2022 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, MI.
John was born in Detroit Michigan on June 28, 1954, to Anthony and Donna (Warden) Case at Saratoga General Hospital. He graduated from Edwin Denby High School on June 16, 1972. He was a firefighter, serving with the Sterling Heights Fire Department. He began his career with the fire department on January 21, 1980. He was licensed as an EMT in 1981. He was promoted to Lieutenant on November 15, 1995 and promoted to Captain on November 12, 2001. He received a Certificate of Special U.S. Senate Recognition of 20 years of service, presented on May 25, 2000. He received the Fire Chief’s Award for observing a building fire while returning to quarters in 2000. He received the Meritorious Unit Citation for work at a CPR at the Polish Century Club in 2001. He received a citation for performing lifesaving efforts on April 3, 2001. He was involved with the Sterling Heights Fire Department’s first Company Officer Development Experience. He assisted with fire department open houses. He received an Associate Degree of Science in Business Management in September of 2003. On January 30, 2006, he retired after thirty-two years of service.
John is survived by his loving girlfriend, Tammy Fuller; daughter, Katrina Case; stepdaughter, Sarah Seeley; and sister, Victoria Anne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Joseph Case and Donna Jean Case.
Friends may gather with the family from 4 – 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068, where the funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
