Jill Ann Hasty

February 22, 1993 — October 10, 2023

Tekonsha

Jill Ann Hasty, 30, of Tekonsha went to be with our Lord Tuesday, October 10th 2023 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. She was born on February 22nd 1993 to Brian and Sally (Neusbaum) Hasty in Marshall, Michigan. Jill was affectionately nicknamed “Jilly Bean,” by her Special Aunt, Chris Neusbaum and was referred to that by many. She attended Marshall High School for a couple of years and obtained her GED from Kellogg Community College where she also took other college courses. Jill was baptized at the Girard Methodist Church in which she attended and worshiped every Sunday.

Jill enjoyed taking animals to the Branch County Fair; she exhibited lambs, starter calves and her steer, “Chuck Roast” which she won fastest rate of gain, along with her lamb. Jill was always the first one in the barn to clean her stalls in the mornings. She loved her animals. She also took many other craft projects to the fair, Lego’s being her favorite in which she won “Best of show” many times.

Jill worked at Hasty Auction Co. when she could. She enjoyed being around the crew and joking with them, she was a great worker. Jill also, was great at bidding “a lot” on her kind of “stuff” which made her so happy.

Growing up Jill loved to follow her big sister Laura around the house and when Shayne arrived, she would be a Little Mother to her Little Sister, she made sure she was well taken care of at all times.

Our Jill was a very caring young lady and always put others before herself, she would always greet you with a smile. Our Jill was a giver; she loved taking her Nannie a cup of coffee and a pastry often. Giving to Jill was a goal to everyone she met. Jill was a very deep thinker and had many talents as a very artistic person. She loved to draw, color and write her own jokes. She had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed the art of music. She was very intelligent; she was always eager to gain more knowledge and to learn more. She was quick witted with a dry sense of humor which kept her family laughing.

Jill often babysat for her little friends, Levi and Luella Maynard, who she loved and cared for a lot. Jill loved her family, and her pets including Whiskey (King Wienie), a stray cat that wandered onto the farm whom she fell in love with and named Sprinkles, and Golden Retriever Ruthie who she would knowingly let drink from her own cup. You could often find her on the front porch listening to a mystery podcast, sporting a straw hat and a flannel shirt from her Grandfather (Poppie’s) closet. She was an avid Jeopardy watcher and answered many of the tough questions on the show.

Jill was a lover of all things colorful. She cherished her nail polish collection, her stuffed animals, stickers, assorted candies, scarves, along with her purses and bags. Jill had the patience and the ability to forgive quickly that many wished they had. She had a very kind soul and wanted everyone to be happy. She had such a special soul.                                                        Jill will be forever remembered and celebrated how remarkable of a woman we had for 30 years who made our world a better place through her boundless giving, compassion and sense of humor.

Jill is survived by her parents, Brian and Sally (Neusbaum) Hasty of Tekonsha; Sisters Shayne Hasty of Tekonsha; and Laura Etchey of Coldwater, Maternal Grandmother (Nannie) Jane Neusbaum of Coldwater; Paternal Grandfather Porter Hasty of Tekonsha, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins of the Hasty and Neusbaum families.
