Jeffrey Ruddock, 69, of Marshall, passed away on March 5, 2022, at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.
Jeff was born in Marshall, MI, on February 14, 1953, the son of the late Thomas and Sarah (Vary) Ruddock. He received his religious background during his youth at Trinity Episcopal Church. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1971, and attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. He served honorably in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam era. Jeff worked as an optician in Boulder Colorado for many years, where he owned Squire Optical. After returning to Marshall, he worked at the Copper Bar and the Moose Lodge. He was a member of Colorado Horseshoe Pitchers Association.
Jeff is survived by brother, Steve (Maureen) Ruddock; sister, Jean (Doug) Holley; nephew, Steven Ruddock; niece, Jaime Ruddock; his best friends, his dogs Spider and Snake; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Sarah Ruddock.
Jeff had a great passion for history and geography. His grandfather, George Ruddock, a local historian, fostered these loves and would frequently relate the story of Marshall nearly becoming our state capitol. Jeff enjoyed music, bon fires, kayaking and was an avid traveler, going to Ireland 3 times and he made many visits to Mexico.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held later at the Moose Lodge #676, 1238 S Kalamazoo Ave, Marshall, MI 49068. Arrangements were entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068.
