Jeffery Cameron Shain

Jeffery Cameron Shain, 81, of Springfield, passed away on June 13, 2023.

Jeff was born on August 23, 1941, to Frederick and Marjorie (Stults) Shain in Detroit, MI. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a Supervisor for Kellogg’s, retiring in 1995 after over twenty-five years of service. He was a long-time member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Battle Creek. He was a member of VFW and American Legion.

Jeffery is survived by his loving spouse Mary Kersch; stepson, Sean (Brittany) Kersch; two grandchildren, Matthew Kersch, and Paige Kersch; three brothers-in law, James (Anna) Barry, David Barry, and Stephen (Linda) Barry. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Cameron Shain, his mother, Marjorie Shain; and a stepson, Todd Kersch.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015, where a funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Rev. Fr. Jacob Thomas will officiate the service. Interment will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, in Battle Creek Memorial Park Cemetery. Those wishing to join the procession to the cemetery should arrive at the funeral home between 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
