JEANNE S. SILVERSJeanne S. Silvers, age 79, of Marshall died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek.Mrs. Silvers was born on October 29, 1926 in Vandalia, Missouri to James and Mary (Haynes) Stroud. She has been a resident of the Marshall area since 1968, moving here form Wilmington, Illinois. Jeanne was a graduate of Alton High School, Alton, IL and attended college for one year. On March 4, 1961, she married Lee F. Silvers. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2000. Mrs. Silvers assisted her husband in the family owned business, Marshall Marketing Inc. for 36 years, working as the administrate assistant.Mrs. Silvers was a life member of the Marshall Women of the Moose, and served as a past Sr. Regent. She enjoyed playing golf and bowling and participated in the Moose golf and bowling leagues. While living in Willington, she was an active member of the United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. Her family remembers her as a kind and caring person and a wonderful cook.She is survived by daughters, Tina (Nick) Manula of Kirkland, Washington, Sue (Mike) Esposito of Wilmington, IL and Sandy (Chuck) Marshall of Wilmington, IL; son, Lee F.. (Kim) Silvers Jr. of Marshall; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, James Stroud; mother, Mary (Haynes) Rayon; and 7 brothers and sisters; and 2 grandsons.A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home. Following the service the family will continue to receive friends until 5:00 PM.. The family suggest memorial contributions be directed to the American Lung Association.
