Jean A. (Blashfield) Hall, age 100, of Tekonsha, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Comfort Care of Marshall in the loving care of her family.

Jean was born August 13, 1922, to Floyd A. and Iva M. (Shafer) Blashfield on her parent’s farm in Clarendon Township. She grew up on the farm attending Pritchard School and graduating from Tekonsha High School in 1940.

She was married to Herbert Hall Jr. in 1942. Herbert entered the U.S. Army to serve in WW2 the following October. He returned home to Jean and Tekonsha after his honorable discharge where the couple enjoyed a loving and fruitful marriage. Herbert preceded her in death in 1968.

Jean’s first employment was at Randall Products in Tekonsha.  When Herbert entered the Army, she went to work at Leila Hospital in Battle Creek for three years then worked at Oaklawn Hospital. Jean then worked at the office of Dr.’s Taylor and Daly in Albion and after that at Drs. Finch, Morrison, McQuaig and Young in Battle Creek. She finished her career working at Eaton Corporation from where she retired in 1986.

Jean enjoyed time with her grandchildren, gardening, reading, needlework, and baking.  She was famous for her caramel corn, Christmas cookies and candy!

She is survived by her three children, Cheryl (Paul) Harrison of Wheatley, Ontario, Danielle (Ken) Streeter of Marshall and Greg Hall of Kansas City, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Brad (Shelly) Charette, Amy Harrison, and Scot (Tami) Streeter; nine great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sister Ilah (George) Clark; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Jean was preceded in death by her brother Boyd Blashfield; her grandson, Rob Streeter, her sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Calvin Dean, Joan and Charles Cooper, and her sister-in-law, Irene (Pete) Jenkins.

Friends may call at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US HWY 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068 on Friday, September 30, 2022. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the funeral service celebrating Jean’s life begins at 12:00pm with Rev. Bill Cole officiating. Burial will take place next to her husband, Herbert in Riverside Cemetery of Tekonsha.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, you remember Jean with a memorial contribution to the Fountain Clinic in Marshall or Oaklawn Hospice.
