James "Jim" H Worthington

James “Jim” H. Worthington, age 74, of Homer, Michigan passed away on August 6, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jim was born on September 27, 1946, in Albion, MI to Harley and Rolene (Fields) Worthington. He was a graduate of Albion High School, Class of 1965. He served in Vietnam, in the First Military Intelligence Battalion 1967 - 68. He worked Maintenance for Hayes Albion for 30 years. Jim also worked for 13 years at Wal-Mart in Jonesville.

On September 9, 1995, Jim married Mary (Semon) Worthington. He was truly the love of her life and one of his favorite things to do were their Saturday Night Date Nights!

Jim was a life member of Albion American Legion Post 55, life member of VFW Carrick-Jarosz Post 9411 of Homer and regularly attended Pulaski Free Methodist. In 2012 he traveled to Haiti on a missionary trip with the Free Methodist Church. He enjoyed fast, loud cars and motorcycles, fishing, having coffee with his buddies, and his 25-pound cat affectionately known as Little Bit, but Jim enjoyed nothing more than his family and grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, Jim Wagner, Miranda Worthington, Melanie (Tracy) Ball, Jamie (Leno) Timmer, Travis (Becki) Baker and Nathan (Amanda) Baker; step-mother, Wanda Worthington; sister, Jeanne Jones; fourteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren as well as two nephews, Matt Jones and Brad Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Rolene; sister, Judith Murray; brother, Harley Worthington, Jr; brother-in-law, Edward Jones; and grandson, Tyler Ball.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Homer Chapel. Services will begin with visitation at 12:00pm and funeral service at 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Pulaski Free Methodist Church, 9975 Miller Road, Hanover, MI 49241 with Pastor Michelle Coats officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Homer. Memorial contributions are requested to Pulaski Free Methodist Church.
