Battle Creek

Jacquelin "Jackie" A. Howie, 79, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 5, 1943 to James and Elsie (DeShano) Howie in Sherwood, Michigan. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1960. In December of 1966 she married William Gordon McIntyre, but they divorced in 1983.

Jackie started working as a Calhoun County Circuit Court Clerk in 1972 until her retirement in 2009. During her tenure she worked with Judge Coleman, Judge Everett and Judge Stephen Miller. She was a former Secretary of the Michigan Court Clerks Association.

Jackie was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Battle Creek. She loved to travel throughout the United States with her family and special friend Sandy. Their favorite stops included antique stores and historical sites. She truly looked forward to eating out with family and meeting her sister for their weekly lunch and car drives around the area. Watching the birds and wildlife through her picture window brought her great comfort. Jackie enjoyed reading, playing the game Words with friends and many other word and puzzle games. She will be sadly missed by her family, especially the grandchildren for her loving touch, beautiful smile, and caring heart.

Jackie is survived by her loving children, Tyler (Neissa) McIntyre of Bellevue, Michigan and Stacy (Greg) Farnham of Battle Creek, Michigan; her grandchildren, Ryan Farnham, Matthew (Haleigh) McElgunn, Melanie McIntyre and Paige McIntyre; her great grandson, Decker McElgunn; her sister, Carol Albaugh of Portage, Michigan; her brother, James (Mary Kay) Howie of Laguna Beach, California and her lifelong friend, Sandy Bell of Southbury, Connecticut.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Joan Barringer and her brother-in-law, Karl Albaugh.

A private celebration of Jackie's life will be held at a later date.
