JACK P. SEBRINGJack P. Sebring, age 75, of Marshall died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Select Specialty Hospital.Mr. Sebring was born on August 25, 1930 in Marshall to Roscoe Samuel and Velda F. (Ewers) Sebring. During the Korean War, he served in the United States Army. Jack was a life long resident of the Marshall Area and engaged in farming. Along with his brother, Robert and sister, Jean Gladstone, were co-owners of the Tri-Lake Campgrounds, located in Fredonia Township.On September 2, 1961, he married the former Doris Marie Panting in Tekonsha.Jack was a member of the Union United Church of Tekonsha and the Claude E. Hale V.F.W. Post in Marshall. He served for over forty years with the Fredonia Volunteer Fire Department. Jack also served Fredonia Township as the cemetery sexton for Lyon Lake and Houston cemeteries, a job he inherited from his father. He maintained and lovingly cared for the cemeteries for over forty years. He loved bluegrass music, antiques and working on old homes. He also enjoyed history and collecting old Native American artifacts.He is survived by his wife, Doris; a daughter, Ann (Duane "Babe") Risner; grandchildren, Chelsie Ash and Cody Ash; step-granddaughter, Katie Lafler; brother, Robert Sebring; sister, Jean Gladstone; and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 with the family receiving friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Union United Church of Tekonsha. Memorials are to the Jack P. Sebring Memorial Fund or to the Union United Church.
