Ivilio "Bert" J. Bertolozzi

Ivilio "Bert" J. Bertolozzi, 83, of Battle Creek, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on October 5, 1939 to Leo and Eva (Calamari) Bertolozzi in Chicago, Illinois.

On October 28, 1972 he married Glenys Cottrell in Pontiac, Illinois.

Prior to his career and retirement with Chrysler Corporation Bert worked at Motorola in Pontiac, Illinois as a laborer and was quickly promoted to divisional supervisor. He then went to work for General Instrument in Taiwan and in Texas. He finished his working days at Textron Corporation in Michigan.

Bert was active with the Boy Scouts of America and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed golfing, going to the casino's, especially in Las Vegas, woodworking, gardening and caring for his yard. He loved his family with all his heart, he enjoyed teasing his children and grandchildren. He will be fondly missed for the surprise gifts that would show up unexpectedly.

Bert is survived by his loving spouse of 50 years Glenys; his children, Karen  Barousse of Arlington, Texas,  Todd (Jessica) Bertolozzi of Lansing, Michigan, Chrissy Moore of Arlington, Texas, Kenny (Amy) Bertolozzi of Kennedale, Texas and Erik (Rachel McGovern) Bertolozzi of Allen Park, Michigan; his grandchildren, Steven (Julie) Ceretto, Jackie Jaeger, Charity (Mike McGowan) Moore, Cameron (Charles) Reeves Alex (Lauren) Jaeger, Tony  Bertolozzi, Tyler (Taylor Brown) Bertolozzi, Megan Hasty and Emma Hasty; his great grandchildren,, Owen Ceretto, Braylyn Ortez, Harper Ortez, Addyson Reeves, Zane Reeves, Charlotte McGowan, Lilly Bertolozzi, Vera Williams and Luna Bertolozzi; his siblings, Elaine Throm, Jean (Louis) Pacini and Ron Bertolozzi;

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Bradley Jaeger and his granddaughter-in-law, Stacy Bertolozzi.

Visitation for Bert will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave. SW, Battle Creek, Michigan 49015 with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity (595 North Ave. Battle Creek, MI 49017).
