Howard L. Schragg

Howard L. Schragg, 65, of Marshall, died on Sunday November 19, 2006, at his home.Mr. Schragg was born on December 9, 1940, in Marshall to Charles H. and Marie E. (Simmons) Schragg. He graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1960.Mr. Schragg worked at the Hill Crest Restaurant from 1962 until it closed. He then worked at the Dug Out Restaurant until he retired in 2003.Mr. Schragg enjoyed riding his bicycle, and could always be seen riding all over town. He enjoyed helping others and would always be willing to lend a helping hand. Mr. Schragg especially enjoyed family gatherings.He is survived by his mother Marie VanFleet, of Marshall, a sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and Eugene Dew of Florida, a brother and sister-in-law Jim and Kay Schragg of Battle Creek. He is also survived by two nephews, two nieces, six great nephews and one great niece. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister-in-law Stephanie Schragg.Visitation will take place at the Kempf Funeral Home from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday with family present to receive friends from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 3:30pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend David Nicholls officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
