Howard "Butch" R. Willis

Howard R. “Butch” Willis, 73, of Battle Creek, passed away on January 21, 2024 at his home in Battle Creek, MI. He was born on December 21, 1950 to Howard E. and Phylis J. (Parsons) Willis in Battle Creek, MI. Butch graduated from Marshall High School Class of 1969 and Western Michigan University Class of 1973. Butch had been working on his family farm since he was a kid, his family has had the farm since 1849.  

He enjoyed reading and watching movies. Butch was an avid reader and a history buff; you could ask him a history question and he had an answer for it. He had traveled to Germany, Mexico, Hawaii and to Canada to do scuba diving. Butch always had an interest in photography.

Surviving is his sister, Mary Lou Mogg of Olivet; great nephew, Matthew Shuler; aunt, Loretta Ball; his special cat, Avery, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Lauren Downhan-Shuler.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Bosworth Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
