Helen Marie Starkey

Helen Marie Starkey, 72 years old, of Marshall, passed away on February 15, 2024, at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI surrounded by family.  

She was born on October 1, 1951, to John and Lois (Harrison) Bailey in Huntington, IN. She graduated from Huntington North High School and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in social work. Helen and husband, Charles lived in Marshall, Michigan.

Helen worked for the Franke Center, Calhoun County Fairgrounds, and enjoyed helping the community in any way she could. She was a member of the Lions Club, served through the Relay for Life, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

Helen is survived by her husband Charles Starkey, her children Corey Brumbaugh, Holly (Greg) Lerash, and Sean (Tiffany) Brumbaugh. Also by her grandchildren  Ariana, Jaylen, Josh, Connor, Annabelle, and Luke; and sister, Joyce (Reyes) Lozano of Kerrville, TX. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dennis Bailey.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 732 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan, 49068.

A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home, Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating.
