Helen Renee Askew

Helen Renee Askew, 75, of Ceresco, passed away on August 5, 2022 in Battle Creek, MI.

She was born on January 16, 1947, to Ernest and Alta May (Schwark) Plushnik in Marshall, MI. She graduated in Harper Creek with the class of 1965. Helen worked for Eatons for 13 years, where she met the love of her life, Don. They just celebrated 37 years of marriage. She retired from her job as a Bus driver for Harper Creek Schools after many years. Helen married Don Askew July 13, 1985. Helen and Don looked forward to monthly luncheons with the bus garage family. She loved to collect recipes and enjoyed cooking. You could always rely on her to bring a dish to pass. She was a very thoughtful and giving person. She loved puzzle books. Helen was always on the go, taking many road trips, finding different restaurants to try. She loved Amazon. Helen was well known for her love of cats.

Helen is survived by her loving spouse Donald, Three step sons, Kurt Askew of Battle Creek, MI, Eric (Denise) Askew of Battle Creek, MI, Jeff (Liz) Askew of Battle Creek, MI; Step Daughter, Wendy Panczyk of Kendallville, IN; Two Sisters, Berniece Parker of Marshall, MI, Nina Halder of East Leroy, MI; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and her special friend, Nancy Johnson, of Battle Creek, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Brothers, Bob Plushnik, Larry Plushnik, Sister, Joanne Casey.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Marshall, Michigan.

Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
