HAROLD L. BAKER Harold L. Baker, age 66, of Marshall, died Sunday, June 25, 2006 after a long illness with his wife and daughter by his side. Harold was born July 20, 1939 in Albion . He graduated from Nahma High School in 1957 in Michigan''s upper peninsula. He attended college, then joined the U.S. Air Force. Harold was self employed most of his life, retiring in 1997. Harold was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed traveling to tournaments. He was a regular supporter of Marshall High School sports. In earlier years, he earned his private pilot''s license and enjoyed flying. He also enjoyed riding motorcycle, and hunting. He loved his pets, especially his pet Yorkie ,Casey. Harold married the former Cathy Gabriel on May 4, 1977. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cathy, his daughter Heather Casarez of Battle Creek, son John (Anne) Baker of Cour d Alene, Idaho and two granddaughters, Kimberly Casarez and Sydney Baker; his in-laws, Richard and Dolores Chapman, Beth and Kevin Howard, and Daniel Chapman; his caregiver Dawn Campbell and many special friends. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private service conducted. Arrangements are by Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Calhoun County Humane Society. Assistance with memorials is available at Kempf Funeral Home.
