Gordon Lee Banks

Gordon Lee Banks, 75, of Battle Creek, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

He was born on April 8, 1946, to the late Merl and Geraldine (Smitley) Banks. He worked as a Meat Cutter for Bill Knapp's Commissary for over 35 years. On June 15, 1968 he was united in marriage with Charlotte (Sloan) Banks. He was a member of Harper Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed watching and attending University of Michigan sporting events and was "Their Biggest Fan".  He dearly loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Charlotte Banks; three children, Steven (Cindy) Banks, Tammy (Joshua) Ducker, Denny (Sherry) Banks; ten grandchildren, Cody, Cheyanne, Emily, Brittany, Breonna, Brandon, Savannah, Skyler, Gabrielle, and Noah; and siblings, Kenneth Banks, Shirley Martin, Vivian Lewis, Nancy Arnold.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Lewis Banks, Janet Baker, and Joyce Brooks.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015. The funeral service will be immediately following the visitation at 1:00 pm on Friday. A graveside service will follow the service at Battle Creek Memorial Park.
