Gerald "Gerry" Joseph Galinis

Gerald "Gerry" Joseph Galinis, 80, of Burlington, Michigan passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on October 12, 1942 to Peter Galinis and Nellie (Yermala) Timm in Coldwater, Michigan.

On December 6, 1969 he married Judy Kay Blair in Quincy, Michigan. He entered the United States Army on September 20, 1966 and was honorably discharged on September 11, 1968 attaining the rank of SP4.

Gerry worked as a valve assemblyman at Eaton Manufacturer Corporation in Battle Creek for over 30 years until their closing and then went to work for Tenneco as a machine operator in Marshall and Litchfield.

Gerry enjoyed reading from medical books to the newspaper, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He was excellent at fixing just about anything and he built his own house, literally from the ground up. Gerry loved to work around the yard and in his garage, he was often found riding his tractor around the property, just enjoying being outdoors.

Gerry is survived by his loving spouse of Judy, his sons, Jamie J. Galinis of Charlotte, Michigan, John Galinis of Michigan, Shawn Galinis of Sparta, Michigan and Timothy a.k.a (Timmer) (Jessica) Galinis of Battle Creek, Michigan; his grandchildren Jourdyn Galinis, Joseph Galinis, Krista Galinis, McKenzie Galinis, Brenden Galinis, Riley Galinis, Chloe Galinis, Harper Galinis and Tyler Galinis; his great grandchildren, Kaydalynn, Riot, Emersyn, Graysynn; and his brother, Richard Galinis of Coldwater, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Stella Peet and Annie Church; his brothers, Peter Galinis, Jr., Albert Galinis and Victor Galinis.

A graveside service for Gerry with military honors will take place on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 1:30 pm at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
