George "Mike" M. Barnes

George “Mike” Barnes, 69, of Marshall, passed away on July 7, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, in Marshall, MI.

He was born on November 18, 1952, to George Albert and Nina (Decant) Barnes, in Marshall, MI. He attended school in Marshall, graduating with the class of 1971. George worked in the Warehouse for Kellogg for 37 years and retired in 2008. In 1974, he married Kay Doolittle and they lived in Marshall, Michigan.

George had many hobbies, lasting a short time before he was onto the next thing. He did love to hunt deer, his Corvette, tinkering, and Lucy, his Maltipoo, who never left his side.

George is survived by his loving spouse of 48 years, Kay, Son, Jason Barnes of Eureka, CA; Daughter, Heather (Michael) Drumm of Homer, MI; Two grandchildren, Caleb (Caylie) Drumm, Kayleigh Drumm; Two great grandchildren, Walker Drumm and Weston Drumm; Three Sisters, Cindy (Mike) Peters, Ellen (Lee) Keehn, Terri (Steve) Fults.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 2022, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Marshall, Michigan.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 11:00 am at the Lyon Lake Cemetery, Fredonia Township, Michigan, with Pastor Jim Codde, officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the Centrica Care Hospice.
