George Everett Billings Jr.

George E. Billings Jr, 86 of Emmett Township died on Tuesday January 20, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family following a short illness.

George was born on September 13, 1934 in Rockwood Tennessee to George and Ruth (Bell) Billings. He attended school in Rockwood. On November 21, 1954 he married the girl next door Frances L. Clear in Battle Creek together they celebrated 66 years of marriage.

George worked for Michigan Carton Company in Battle Creek for 49 years, and he retired in 1997. He enjoyed being outdoors working in the yard and in the gardens. George loved spending time with his family and his faithful dog "Nugget".
He is survived by his wife Frances; two children, Michael (Robin) Billings and Annette Clark; grandchildren, Jason (Tiffany) Billings, Joshua (Kay) Billings, Jon Billings, Arran Walbeck, Mickey Clark, and Doug (Scarlett) Clark; six great-grandchildren; Jonathan, Carson, Zoey, Afton, Harper, and Greyson; and a brother Wallace Billings. He is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Beth Marie Billings.

Visitation will take place on Thursday January 28, 2021 from 10am-12noon at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 2838 Capital Ave SW Battle Creek MI 49015 with funeral services celebrating his life taking place at 12noon with Pastor Randy Sebright officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are requested to Grace Hospice, 2725 Airview Blvd Suite 101 Portage, MI 49002.
