Frances "Fran" F. (McCloud) Libbrecht

Frances “Fran” F. Libbrecht, 84, of Richland, Michigan formerly of Marshall, Michigan passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 19, 1937 to William and Cora (Biggs) McCloud in Fountain Head, Sumner County, Tennessee.

After living in Grand Ledge, Michigan she moved to Marshall and was a1955 graduate of Marshall High School. She was married to Henry J. Libbrecht at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in 1956 and started her family.

She worked as a guide at Kellogg Cereal in Battle Creek then started managing the A&W Root Beer Stand that her parents owned. After 18 years it became McCloud’s Drive In and she stayed with them for another 15 years.

There she was truly a driving force doing everything from flipping burgers to serving customers to payroll. She loved animals of all kinds but was passionate about horses. Fran was an avid bowler for many years on multiple leagues. She was a very talented piano musician and singer and also loved listening to music, especially country. She would look forward to her lunch and dinner dates with her friends and classmates. Fran’s greatest love was her family. She cherished the family get together’s and their visits as well as going out with them to concerts, school events with the great grandchildren or dinner.

Frances “Fran” is survived by her children; Daniel Libbrecht of Marengo, Michigan, Shelane (Keith) Hulce of Ocala, Florida, Michele (Jay Gesmundo) Libbrecht of Richland, Michigan. Fran is survived by her grandchildren Audri (Darren) Yost, Lyn (Scott Jaques) Hulce, and Christopher Hulce, and her great grandchildren, Kyler, Adylan, Taylor, Travis and Kendall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two sons: David Libbrecht and William Libbrecht.

A small private graveside service for Fran will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Marshall, Michigan and a Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
