Feddie Newsome

Feddie Newsome, 89, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Brookdale in Battle Creek, Michigan.

He was born on July 19, 1934 to Gordon and Molly (Newsome) Newsome in Pikeville, Kentucky.

On November 28, 1953 Feddie married Emily Scott in Albion, Michigan, sadly she passed away on October 25, 2016.

His first job was at Albion Malleable Iron Company in Albion, Michigan as a laborer and then he went to work for Decker Nut Manufacturing in Albion, Michigan as a machinist for about 9 years. Feddie became self-employed in selling farm implements and working on his farm.

Feddie enjoyed fishing, going to auctions, and listening to country music, which was mainly playing on the radio in his garage as he was working on his auction purchases. He and Emily enjoyed wintering in South Padre Island, Texas.

Feddie is survived by his son, Gordon E. Newsome of Carson City, Nevada; his special friends, Dale (Brenda) Schiesser of Marshall, Michigan; his granddaughter, Amanda (Derek) E. Linsday of Albion, Michigan; his great grandchildren, Bree Timpe, Keiana Timpe, Keith Timpe, MaKayLey Linsday and  Molly Linsday all of Albion, Michigan; his sisters, Opal Newsome of Marshall, Michigan, and Beatrice (Palmer) Hamilton of Marshall, Michigan; his niece, Pamela Hamilton of Marshall, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Emily.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall, Michigan 49068 with the funeral service to begin at 12:00 noon. Pastor Rick Gorham, officiating. Burial will follow at Porter Cemetery, Convis Township, Michigan.
