Battle Creek

Faye Warner, age 80, of Battle Creek passed peacefully at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, with her husband, daughters, sister, grandchildren, and other extended family by her side, on Friday, November 17, 2023, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 21, 1943, in Battle Creek, Michigan to James Roy Garrett and Ethel Louise (Clark) Garrett.

Faye grew up in Battle Creek, attended Lakeview school, graduated from Harper Creek High School with her daughter (Connie) in 1981. She married Robert “Bob” M. Warner in Battle Creek on May 21, 1960. They were married for more than 63 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Robert and Helen Warner; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Ralph Sleeper.

Faye is survived by her loving husband, Bob; her three daughters, Debra (David) Ball, Patricia (Jeffery) Wilson and Constance (Kevin) Demers; as well as six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren (one on the way); her brother, James C. (Linda) Garrett and her sister Pamela E. Garrett; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Faye was a stay-at-home mom raising her three daughters; she volunteered at LaMora Park Elementary in Battle Creek and enjoyed bowling.  In 1981 she went to work for Drs. Timothy and Carolyn Hoekstra MD (OBGYN); retired in 1995.  Faye was a founding member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Calhoun County in 1987.  After retirement she and Bob started wintering in Florida, enjoying Detroit Tiger season tickets, she was active in many activities in both Tiki Village Campground (Lakeland, FL) and Good Life RV Resort (Bartow, FL), especially enjoyed Bingo and Shuffleboard.  They attended Lake Gibson United Methodist Church in Lakeland, FL as well as Good Life RV Resort Church in Bartow, FL.  She was a supportive daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also enjoyed her beloved family pets.  Her kind heart and beautiful smile will greatly be missed by many.

Services to celebrate Faye's life will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, with visitation from 11:00am – 12:00pm and the funeral service beginning at 12:00pm, Pastor Thomas E. Ball officiating, both will be held at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015. A committal service will follow at Battle Creek Memorial Park, 2435 W. Territorial Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
