Fanny "Ann" P. (Preece) Abbott

Fanny "Ann" P. Abbott, 78, of Bellevue, passed away on April 19, 2022, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. She was born on September 13, 1943, to Albert and Malissa (Dutton) Preece in Tomahawk, KY. On August 15, 1961, she married Joseph Jay Abbott, Sr. in Division, IN, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together beginning in Kentucky then moved to Bellevue, Michigan while the boys were still young. Ann was a very dedicated and loving homemaker, “Home and Family” were her Happy Place!

She was a member of Eagle Lodge #3552, in Charlotte, MI and attended the Baptist church. Ann enjoyed reading, loved gardening and animals, and had a special level of kindness toward the stray cats around her home.

Ann is survived by her loving sons, Ed Abbott of Charlotte, MI and Joseph J. Abbott, Jr. of Bellevue, MI; granddaughter, Brooke Bivens; her brother, John Preese of Columbus, OH; and two sisters, Bertha Hardy of Clarksville, TN, and Maudie Jude of Pilgrim, KY.

She was preceded in death by husband, Joe; parents, Albert and Malissa; brothers, Ira Preece and George Preece; also, sisters, Joy Mills and Easter Meek.

Per Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest with the love of her life, Joe, in Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49021

Services were entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 205 N. Elizabeth St, Bellevue, MI 49021. Memorials are suggested to the Charity of One's Choice "for the welfare of children".
