Ellen P. VanCarpels

Ellen P. VanCarpels, 94, of Marshall, passed away on December 10, 2022, in Marshall, MI.

She was born on March 25, 1928, to Charles and Gladys (Knapp) Ahlstrand at Dumont, NJ. Ellen was an only child. She was a graduate of Dumont High School. Ellen was working in New York City, when she met Frank, who was on leave from the service, in an ice cream shop in Dumont. They would marry and live in Mahwah for close to 40 years. In that time, Ellen was a homemaker, and also worked in advertising for Faberge and Elizabeth Arden. She was a founding member, and one of the original 13 members, of The American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Association. She was proud of her glass collection. Ellen and Frank Traveled around the world, including Asia, Europe, Tiawan, and Hawaii.

Ellen is survived by her Children, Linda (Kenneth) Wirtz of Marshall; Son, Eric Scott (Cindy) VanCarpels of Wantage, NJ; and many Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 46 years, Frank W. VanCarpels.
