Edward B. Yoder, age 84, of Marshall, died at Tendercare of Marshall on April 18, 2010. Ed was born in Nappanee, Indiana to Ben P. and Ida (Miller) Yoder, one of twelve children. Ed farmed until entering the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952 and returned to the Colon area. He lived there for many years and then moved to Tennessee. He later moved to Marshall with his wife Mauvean. Ed was married to his beloved Mauvean Baker on October 22, 1966 in Colon. Ed's readily admitted goal in life was always Mauvean's happiness first and foremost! They enjoyed a fruitful and loving marriage of 37 years until Mauvean preceded him in death on July 12, 2004. Ed worked for many years as a meat cutter in the grocery industry. Locally he had practiced his trade at Bill's Bi-Rite and Stanley Packing. After his retirement he worked in downtown Marshall at the Two Hour Dry Cleaner's, Herman's Hardware, Redman's Paint and the Stage Coach. This gave Ed, who was a true people person with a helpful and giving nature, many enjoyable days. He was a member of the Masonic Order in Colon. Ed was a Life Member of Stanley E. Lamb Post 4073 in Marshall and had been an American Legion member in Colon. He had been a member of Claude E. Hale Post 4073 VFW. Ed loved golfing and liked to bowl. Army reunions were enjoyed over many years. He attended church regularly while able. A secret pleasure shared with Ed and daughter Martha were the occasional beer he enjoyed without Mauvean's knowledge at the Stage Coach with a "beer coupon
