Edward LaVerne Wolfe

Edward LaVerne Wolfe, 93, of Homer, Michigan passed away on April 1, 2022 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, Michigan.

Ed was born on March 27, 1929 to Cyril and Helen (Kewen) Wolfe in Lansing, MI.  He attended high school in Augusta, Kansas, and served in the 11 ^th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, post WWII and pre-Korean Conflict. Upon returning Ed married his childhood acquaintance, Bonnie Gardner, September 2, 1952.

Ed and Bonnie settled in Homer Michigan where they had six children.
Ed worked as a tool and die maker for Kelsey Hayes in Jackson, MI.  He served as the Union Chief Steward and retired after 30 years of service.

Ed was very well read and through his life accumulated extensive knowledge.  He was able to carry-on in-depth conversations on many topics with a passion for history. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends; and restoring antique furniture.  He was an accomplished amateur artist and avid coin collector.  Ed very much enjoyed his time spent with Bonnie over many summers, camping at Waffle Farm Campground in Coldwater, MI.

Edward is survived by his children; Stephen (Janice) of Fremont, Indiana, Kenneth Wolfe of Homer, Michigan and Teresa Schell of Alpena, Michigan; his 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great, great, grandson. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Bonnie; his children; Karen Wolfe, Dennis (Eddie) Wolfe, and Gail Wolfe-Boehmer; and a granddaughter; Candace Rothwell.

Visitation for Edward will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 12:00 (noon) to 1:00 p.m. at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 303 S. Hillsdale St., Homer, MI 49245;  with memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  A private graveside ceremony will be planned for family at Fairview Cemetery in Homer Township, MI at a future date.
