Dorothy L. Flynn, 89, of Marshall died on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Glen Arbor Hospice Residence following a long illness.
Dorothy was born on December 4, 1931, in Tecumseh to Merle and Irene (Kempf) Lanning. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1949. On September 16, 1950, she married Robert L. Flynn in Marshall. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1990.
Dorothy was a home maker staying home to raise her family and helped her husband on the farm. She also waitressed at Lavern and Shirley’s restaurant in Marshall, and a short time at State Farm. Dorothy was a member Saint Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, walking, working in the yard, and keeping the farm looking good. Dorothy enjoyed supporting her sons and grandchildren in any of their events.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Pam) Flynn Jr, Greg (Diane Shreve) Flynn, Eric (Celee Marchek) Flynn, and David (Tracy Winnie) Flynn; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter Debra A. Flynn on July 20, 1987; a granddaughter Kayla L. Flynn on October 4, 2020; and a sister Norma Bonnell.
Visitation will take place from 4-7pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall MI 49068 with a prayer service taking place at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Friday October 29, 2021, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 212 West Hanover Street Marshall MI 49068 with Reverend Father Craig Lusk officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to Saint Mary Catholic Church or to the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence.
