Doris "Dorene" (Brown) Collins

Doris "Dorene" Collins, 79, of Bellevue, Michigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at home.

She was born on July 16, 1943 to George and Doris (Arnold) Morrison in Hastings, Michigan.

On August 5, 1961 she married Thomas Howard Collins in Battle Creek, sadly he passed away on May 13, 2013.

Dorene was a true homemaker, she loved being the person everyone could go to. She quilted, knitted, sewed, canned food, made jam and could also fly fish. Dorene was an excellent cook and baker; she would welcome anybody into their home and made sure they were fed. Nobody left the house hungry.

Dorene is survived by her loving son, Steven "Chipley" Andrew Collins of Marshall, Michigan, her grandson, Steven Thomas Collins of Bellevue, Michigan and her granddaughter, Kelsi Dawn Collins of Alexandria, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Collins, her son, Thomas Alexander Collins and her parents.

Visitation for Dorene will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 205 N. Elizabeth St. Bellevue, Michigan 49021 with the memorial service to follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

Cremation will take place at the Langeland Family Cremation Center, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hospice of Lansing.
