Donna (Casebeer) Boshears

Donna Boshears, age 93, of Marshall, went to be with her Lord on January 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving Family.

Donnas was born on November 15, 1928, in Coldwater, Michigan, the daughter of the late Lucy (Havens) Casebeer and Robert Casebeer. She grew up on a farm in Tekonsha and graduated from Tekonsha High School in 1946. She was an avid horsewoman and in her early years she competed and won many events sponsored by local saddle clubs. In addition, she was a talented fast pitch softball pitcher for her local team and briefly pitched for the Kalamazoo Belles, a professional womens softball team.

She was the loving wife of Douglas Boshears and they enjoyed 73 years of marriage together. Donna and Douglas were married on May 1, 1948, and they had three children, David Boshears of Marshall, MI, Denise Garbacz of Port Charlotte, FL, and Dian Nielsen of Pebble Beach, CA.

After marriage, she was employed at Federal-Mogul Corporation in Coldwater, MI and later at Sherer Gillette in Marshall, MI. She and Douglas then acquired a Ford dealership in Homer, MI and later in Marshall, MI. She became active in the business as Office Manager and Accountant.

Later in life, she once again competed in equestrian events, through Carlton Farms and again was very successful and won many ribbons in various states.

Donna lived a long and eventful life and will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in the reception hall at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068.
