Donald Wood

Donald Wood, age 74, of Marshall, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born on October 31, 1946, the son of the late Leo and Ruth (Moore) Wood. He was employed by Eaton Manufacturing as Logistics Coordinator, retiring after 33 ½ years of service. Following retirement he owned and operated his own construction business, Don’s Home Improvement. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. He worked as a mechanic and body man on a pit crew and built race cars as well. He loved camping and enjoyed doing word search puzzles.

Don was united in marriage with Lana (Huff) Wood on August 23, 1964; she preceded him in death on February 21, 2019. He is survived by their three daughters, Kim (Gale) Cvitkovic, Lisa (Bruce) Johnson, Tracey (Joe) Costa; a special son, Brad (Joyce) Kraatz; five granddaughters, Ashley Sobel, Amanda (Justin) Wood, Alanna Johnson, Meghan (Brendon Putnam) Costa, and Brittney Costa; two great-grandsons, Jameson Wood and Turner Wood; three sisters and two brothers, Ruth (Jim) Pauley, Gerry (Pat) Wood, Sherry (Gil) Harden, Shelly (Scott) Saunders, and Kevin (Johnna) Wood; and several nieces and nephews, who he was a loving and supportive father-figure to. He was preceded in death by four brothers, David Wood, Dale Cadger, Ronald Wood, and Bill Wood.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068.
