Dolly J. Vincent

April 19, 1929 — April 19, 2006

DOLLY J. VINCENT Dolly J. Vincent, age 77, of Marshall, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at her home while surrounded by the loving care of her family. Dolly was born Nov. 6, 1928 in Croswell to Roscoe and Lucinda (McGuire) Denison. She graduated from Croswell High School in 1946. She then went to work as an IBM keypunch operator for Chrysler Corporation. She was married to Stanley D. Vincent on July 21, 1951 in Croswell. The couple then moved to Port Huron. She worked at a local insurance office there until 1957, when she and Stan started their family. They moved to Marshall in 1970. Dolly and Stan had made their children their priority , so she did not work full time. As the children got older, she did work for some short times in Battle Creek for Ralston''s and St. Regis Paper Company, and also in Marshall for a caterer to "keep busy". She was a member of First Congregational Church in Battle Creek, and Women Of The Moose in Marshall. Dolly had volunteered for Meals On Wheels in Marshall. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years. Dolly''s passion in life was her grandchildren and anything they were involved in. She was a compassionate, non-judgmental person who always searched out the good in everyone. Her love of family was evident as she faithfully traveled to family events in Croswell, and had become a matriarchal figure even to her extended family. Her sweet disposition never faltered, even in her final illness. Surviving are her husband Stanley D.; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel S. Vincent of Marshall, David G. (Mary Ellen) Vincent of Manistee, and Derek S. (Gina) Vincent of Marshall; 6 grandchildren, Collin Vincent of St. Petersburg, FL, Jarad, Jordan, and Jenna Vincent all of Manistee, and Caleb and Conner Vincent both of Marshall; her brother, Grant "Kelley" Denison of Croswell; many nieces and nephews; and a special lifelong friend, Marvel Holbrook of Port Huron. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Keith Denison, Betty Whitebread, Ruth Turner, June Hendra, Dorothy Allen and Dennis Denison( who died during WWII''s invasion of Normandy). Friends may call at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Sunday 9AM-9PM, where family will be present to greet friends and share memories 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at Kempf Funeral Home Monday, April 24, at 10:30A.M. . Interment to follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Jackson Oaklawn Hospice. Assistance with memorials available at Kempf Funeral Home.
