Dennis P. Beatty

Dennis Paul Beatty, age 83, of Battle Creek, Michigan died on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at home. Dennis was born on June 15, 1940, in Battle Creek to Robert Edwin and Janet (Sanford) Beatty. He graduated with the Class of 1958 from Marshall High School, then entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1960. Dennis then went on to JATC Trade School to earn his Electrician License.

Dennis retired from IBEW Local 445 in 2002 after working for 39 years as an electrician. He was a member of the Union Local IBEW 445. He also worked with Habitat for Humanity and the Tri-County Food Bank as a coordinator feeding over 150 families every week. Dennis enjoyed sports, golfing and loved to fish. Dennis was an avid gardener keeping his large, family garden beautiful. He loved spending time with his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren helping them with their 4-H projects raising goats, beef steers and some horses.

He is survived by his children, Robert Sandford Beatty of Hastings, and Kimberly Hall of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Jacob Hall, and Jennifer Hall; twin sister, Barbara (Larry) Bell of Hastings; nephews, Craig (Sherri) Bell and Thad Bell. He was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife, Karen Rowe Brookmyer; and niece-in-law, Becky.

Visitation will take place at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015 on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A committal service with military honors and interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012 on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2023, at 12:00 P.M.
