Dee Etta Kelley, 94, formerly of Marshall, passed away on June 7, 2024, in Jackson, Michigan.
She was born on December 25, 1929, to Dudley and Malla (Bailey) Watson in Carver, Kentucky.
During the 1940’s, Dee worked at Peck's Drugstore in Marshall, Michigan. While her children were growing up, she stayed at home and was a devoted mother and housewife. Later she worked for Lynn Industries in Leslie, Michigan.
Dee enjoyed writing poetry and limericks, recognized locally at former “Kids Place”, and often read her work at civic center gatherings. She had quite an ear for music and could pick up and play just about any instrument. Dee never missed an episode of Jeopardy! and loved to do crossword puzzles. Dee cherished spending time with her family and had a soft spot for animals.
Dee is survived by her sister Inez Koyl of Olivet, Michigan; son-in-law Dennis Graff of Kentucky; daughter-in-law Christina Kelley of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rosco; children Cindy Graff, Delbert Kelley, and Darrell Kelley; and her parents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US HWY 27 N., Marshall, Michigan 49068
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, 12:00 pm at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Steve Brown officiating
Burial will take place at Lee Center Cemetery.
