Deborah Jean (Douglas) Hartle

Deborah Jean Hartle, 69, of Homer, Michigan, passed away on July 14, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospice Home in Jackson.

Deborah was born in Albion, Michigan, on June 3, 1954, to the late Robert and Marilyn (Truax) Douglas. She was a graduate of Homer High School. She worked for State Farm Insurance in Marshall, retiring after thirty years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Homer. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Homer. On June 30, 1973, she was united in marriage with Dennis D. Hartle. Deborah and Dennis recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, who loved to spend time with her family. She and Dennis enjoyed traveling together, going on several cruises, and visiting Las Vegas. She enjoyed cooking and playing Bunco.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Dennis D. Hartle; two sons, Adam (Katie) Hartle, and Aaron (Michelle Watson) Hartle; three grandchildren, Peyton Hartle, Declan Hartle, and Quintin Hartle; one sister, Annette (Joe) Collier, and two brothers, Scott (Karleen) Douglas, and Michael (Tracy) Douglas; and several nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her four furry grand dogs.

Friends may visit with the family from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068, where the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023. Pastor Steve Kazar will officiate the service and cremation will take place after the funeral. Interment will take place later in Fairview Cemetery in Homer.
