Dawn Rene' Casey

Dawn Rene' Casey, 65, of Battle Creek, passed away on April 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Battle Creek, MI. She was born on December 9, 1958 to William and Barbara (Brott) Johnson in Battle Creek. Dawn worked as a Secretary for Branch Gymnastics. She married Kevin Casey on September 4, 1988 at the Pennfield Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek.  

Dawn loved to sew, she would make doll clothes for American Girl Dolls. She loved to cook and bake; she would make Sunday dinners for her family and bake cakes for birthdays. Dawn enjoyed going camping with Kevin and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed watching Kevin plant flowers for her and watching the Hallmark Channel, Detroit Tigers Baseball and Michigan State Spartans. 

Dawn is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Kevin; sons, Tyler (Ashlee) Casey, Alexander (Bree) Casey both of Battle Creek; granddaughter, Gracelynn Casey and a baby girl on the way; brother, William Johnson; nieces, Heather and Sara; nephew, William IV; 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Garry Johnson; niece, Heidi Johnson and great nephew, Parker Lee Harris.

A Celebration of Life for Dawn will be held at a later date at her home.
