David Louis Sebring, 90, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on March 20, 2024, at his home under the loving care of his daughter, Rebekah.
He was born on June 27, 1933, to Russell and Clara E. (Sachjen) Sebring in Marshall. David lived all but two years of his life in Fredonia Township, those two years were dedicated to his service in the US Army from 1953 – 1955, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal.
His marriage to Beverly Minor ended in divorce. After which, he connected with his high school sweetheart, Lillian Baker and they were married in 1978.
David worked for 32 years at the City of Marshall Waste Water Plant, retiring at 53 years old. After retirement, he was the Supervisor of Fredonia Township for 20 years and served the community for 30 years on the Fredonia Fire Department. He also owned his own business, Sebring Sewer and Drain Cleaning. He taught 4-H, was a dairy farmer – Marshall Creamery - for many years and enjoyed talking with friends over beer.
David is survived by his daughter, Rebekah Sebring (Doug Waidelich); cousin, Bob “Butch” Sebring; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian (Baker) Sebring; his son David Sebring, Jr; and his daughter, Melissa K. Hoidsworth.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Thursday, March 28, 2024, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, 12:00 pm at the funeral home, Jacob E. Washburn, officiating. Burial will follow at Lyon Lake Cemetery, 8803 17 Mile Road, (Fredonia Township) Marshall, MI 49068.
