Clifton J. Wright

Clifton J. Wright, age 89, of Homer, MI, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence.

He was born in Marshall, MI, on June 3, 1933, the son of the late Meredith Wright and Mildred (Fountain) Wright. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1953. He worked for VanSickle Farm for many years. He then went to work for Eaton’s in 1960, where he retired in 1990 after 30 years of service. He never gave up his love of farming. For many years he plowed snow and plowed and disced gardens. He also did brush hogging. He was so very proud of his 1957 Ford Tractor. At one time you would be able to find Cliff at McDonalds, either for breakfast or lunch discussing “important issues” with his friends. You might also find him walking in the early morning hours with his flashlight in hand. He always had to get his walk in no matter what the weather was like. Cliff volunteered at the fair, donated blood, and participated in cancer walks. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Susanne J. Wright; brothers, Larry and Meredith; his grandson, Joey; and his beloved dog, Gizmo.

Clifton is survived by his children, Bill Wright, Teresa (Rich) Coppock; grandchildren, Echo (Josh) Levine, Kayla Owens, and Robert (Ashley) Owens Jr.; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Hunter, Holly, Haylie, Donald and Clifton Jay “CJ”.

Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, with his nephew Wendell Wright officiating the service.
