Christian Lee Goodenough

Our beloved son, Christian Lee Goodenough, age 30, of Battle Creek, MI, went to be with the Lord, in his sleep, at home on September 4th, 2023.  He was born on November 9, 1992, in Three Rivers, Michigan, the son of David Goodenough, and James and Sandra Thompson.  Christian attended Lakeview Community Schools and graduated in 2010.  Christian enjoyed playing school sports.  He was active in soccer, basketball, and floor hockey.

In recent years, Christian was employed by Hawx Pest Control, a District Sales Manager, and was passionate about his work.  Christian loved to attend sporting events with family, and friends, with one of his favorite events being an annual Detroit Pistons game, even though he did prefer college basketball.  No matter the season predictions, or results, Christian remained faithful to the Detroit Lions.  Christian enjoyed travel as well, often taking his family on trips, including Indiana Beach, and Sevierville, TN.  He followed in his “grampy” Vaughn’s footsteps, with his all-time favorite pizza being Volcano Pizza.  When his family would tell him it was too costly, his reply would be, “that is no rip off for this great pizza!”  Christian continued his love for hats, jerseys, and shoes through adulthood, he was always seeking additions to his “shoe game.”  Christian professed his love for Jesus, continuing to grow his desire to serve him, and strengthen his walk of faith.

Christian is survived by his parents David Goodenough, James and Sandra Thompson; sisters, Saydi E. Thompson, and Cheyenne E. Goodenough; niece Maizlee; aunt, Susan Reitz and uncle, Ryan Reitz; cousins, Shiloh Lee Jones, Ronnie Delucas, Britney Baker, David Blair, Leah Blair; grandparents, Riley and Dorothy Goodenough, and many, many other much-loved Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Journey Church, 800 S 24th St, Battle Creek, MI 49015. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Steven Amaro officiating. Private interment will take place later in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
