Charles Thomas Flynn

Charles Thomas Flynn, 86, of Dexter, Michigan, formerly of Marshall, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Clara's House in Dexter, Michigan.  
He was born on August 11, 1937, to Charles and Margaret (Bicknell) Flynn in Marshall, Michigan. 
After graduating from Marshall High School, Charles furthered his education at Western Michigan University. He was an automobile mechanic, specializing in Volkswagens before eventually owning and operating his own shop, but then he decided to get involved with heating and cooling repair. Charles studied heating and cooling at Kalamazoo Valley Community College while also working at Western Michigan University. He retired in 1989.
Charles enjoyed reading, working on the family farm earlier in his life and fixing or tinkering around the house and garage, cross country skiing and flying stunt kites. He especially loved being outdoors, whether it was camping or hiking. 
Charles is survived by his three sons, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Flynn of Dexter, Michigan, Jerome (Amy) Flynn of O'Fallon, Missouri and Joseph (Celyn) Flynn of St. Charles, Missouri; his 6 grandchildren, one great grandchild and 6 step great grandchildren; his siblings, Emily Lloyd of Ithaca, New York, Rosalyn Flynn of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Phillip (Jerri) Flynn of Lansing, Michigan, Dennis (Kathy) Flynn of Marshall, Michigan, Timothy (Pam) Flynn of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Mary Roscoe of Portage, Michigan, Deborah (Bob) Lyng of Marshall, Michigan and Joseph (Sherry) Flynn of Marshall, Michigan. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Celia Earl and Kathleen Fuller. 
A private Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
